It can be good for some people, but may not be true for all. Also, coin has two sides, we should be prepared to handle the up and down sides.
* It speeds up everything... *
We use many ways to send messages like SMS, email, MSN, Facebook, etc. It's quick and easy, but message could be sent to wrong person or improper moment, or even the message may not be prepared well when we were not thoughtful enough. Misunderstanding comes after.
* It's cheap... *
It only costs people time, more information is floating around, you need more time and energy to handle. When you count your time as well, it's not that cheap afterwards.
* Technology technology... *
Some people are good at playing with new technology but some are not. When the technology gap becomes wider, less letter, card and note were written, some people get less interaction when they don't pick up the new technology. Do you also able to find long lost friend through Facebook, for example. But you also lose some privacy which depends in how do play with the setting.
So far, how does these affect our intimate life?
1. Gain more ways to communicate
2. Gain more time to response, compare with phone call or face-to-face
3. Graphic and animation are used to express, and not only words
4. More time spent in front of the computer and less time is spent with your partner (it's good and/or bad)
5. Better support network is build among your friends, it also helps your intimate life
6. Conflicts on computer usage (it's good if you can resolve bit it's bad if you can't), we have many to resolve in a relationship, being more mature and like a grown up, showing a little bit of self-control and respect of others is a start
Any more?
